Ketchum's Garage
4045 Main Street, Downtown Hilliard, Ohio
We're thrilled to share one of our most exciting projects yet: the transformation of 4045 Main Street in Downtown Hilliard. When we purchased the former Ketchum's Garage building last May, we saw an opportunity to honor Old Hilliard's history while creating space for two beloved local businesses to thrive—Cyclical Nature and Bakes by Lo.
"We couldn't be more excited to continue our work on Main Street," said Andy Warnock, our founder and CEO. "Bringing Cyclical Nature back downtown and providing additional capacity for Bakes by Lo allows both businesses to grow while staying rooted in Hilliard."
Choosing Preservation Over Demolition
When we acquired this historic building, we faced a pivotal decision: demolish and start fresh, or restore and repurpose. We chose preservation. This building has served the Hilliard community for decades—first as a Chevrolet dealership, then as an automotive service center—and we believe it deserves to serve future generations while retaining the architectural character that makes Downtown Hilliard special.
Adaptive reuse isn't just good development practice; it's a commitment to maintaining the walkable, historic charm that makes Old Hilliard the vibrant destination it is today.
Cyclical Nature Returns to Downtown
We're bringing Cyclical Nature back to Main Street. This well-known local bike shop previously operated downtown before relocating elsewhere in Hilliard. Now they're coming home to the heart of Old Hilliard, where their presence will once again contribute to the walkable, community-focused atmosphere that makes our downtown special.
Their new space will offer bicycle repair and fitting services, retail sales, and related products. Looking ahead to 2026, they're planning e-bike rentals and group rides—perfect additions for a community that values outdoor recreation and sustainable transportation.
"Cyclical Nature has long been a valued part of Hilliard's small business community, and we're excited to welcome them back to this important downtown location," said Angela Zody, Hilliard's downtown manager. "Projects like this support local entrepreneurs while helping maintain the character and walkability that make Downtown Hilliard a destination."
Room to Grow: Bakes by Lo's New Home
Bakes by Lo has become a local favorite, and we're proud to provide them the space they need to expand. Moving from Center Street Market to Main Street will allow them to increase production capacity while staying firmly rooted in the Hilliard community.
For customers who've enjoyed their artisan baked goods at farmers markets and pop-ups, this permanent downtown location means more consistent access to the treats that have made Bakes by Lo a Hilliard staple.
Community Support for Smart Growth
We're grateful to the Hilliard Development Corporation for awarding a combined $70,000 grant to support this project. This funding is making possible critical improvements including exterior concrete work, painting, artificial turf, lighting, signage, bike racks, landscaping, and outdoor furnishings—enhancements that will benefit not just our tenants but the entire Main Street corridor.
Strengthening Downtown Hilliard's Fabric
Our project sits in the heart of Old Hilliard's most dynamic area. Just down the street, you'll find the always-popular Crooked Can Brewing Company (longtime residents remember this as the former home of Bakes by Lo), along with other beloved local businesses that make Main Street a true community gathering place.
We believe the best development strengthens rather than disrupts existing community fabric. By choosing renovation over demolition, supporting local businesses, and creating spaces that encourage foot traffic and community interaction, we're setting a precedent for thoughtful downtown growth.
What's Next
Construction is moving forward with completion expected this spring. Opening timelines for both Cyclical Nature and Bakes by Lo will be announced in the coming months—we can't wait to cut the ribbon and welcome the community to these beautifully restored spaces.
At Westwood Collective, we believe growth and preservation can work hand in hand. The transformation of 4045 Main Street represents our commitment to investing in Hilliard's future while honoring its past. This is more than just a renovation; it's about creating opportunities for local entrepreneurs and maintaining the historic character that makes Old Hilliard special.
We're excited to be part of Downtown Hilliard's evolution and grateful to everyone who has supported this project.
